Project Overview
The renovation and additions to this home were faced with some challenges during the construction process. The Council had not allowed the reserve at the rear of the building to be used for any construction purposes, so all access was limited to the side of the house. It was also decided to retain the face/texture bricks, in keeping with the existing residence.
The old area of the house was completely gutted to make way for the additions and renovations, which were:
- timber flooring to all common areas
- sound insulation to first floor dining/kitchen/living area
- all ceilings were insulated for sound and heat transference
- all gardens were irrigated with separate controllers for each apartment
- intercom to the first floor apartment
- security system
- all bathrooms tiled to ceiling
- automatic garage door.
